The dos and don'ts when creating an IMDb biography

You have to be an actress or actor to run an IMDb biography page. So if you have been featured in a TV series, movie, or TV show, you are probably eligible to have an IMDB biography page.

But how do you write one? We have compiled a few things you need to know about an IMDB page and how you can write one.

How to Add Yourself

First, you need to make sure that you are not listed. The IMDB has millions of databases of actors and actresses, and if you have appeared in any movie, series, or TV show, your name could be credited in the IMDB.

All IMDB pages have a search feature that you can use to search for your name. While searching for your name, consider searching it in many different spellings because it could be listed using a different spelling.

Next, make sure that the movie or show you worked on is listed on the site. The site pages, as we mentioned, all have a search feature. Click on the search box and type the title of the movie or show. If the site has not listed it yet, you can add it using the new title submission page.

After you have made sure that the title of the movie or show you added is already on IMDB, go ahead and click on 'edit page.' Now find the department that you worked on under cast and crew. Next, select the right action and scroll down to click continue.

the site will present you with a form that will require you to fill in:

●    Both of your names.

●    Your role in the production (if you were an actor or actress).

●    Click 'check these updates' or 'return,' and you will be presented with a list of other people with the same name. Click none of these.

●    If you are 100% sure you are not listed, click on either 'this is a completely different person who is not listed - create' or 'i am not sure - submit as is…and let IMDB staff decide.

Next, if you are a cast member, not crew, you will need to add the character's name the same as on the screen. Finally, if you are among the crew, not the cast, you will need to include your role in the production. You will choose your position from the drop-down list. You can find your role in the drop-down list, but you can select 'other' and write your role by yourself if you don't.

After adding all the information needed, go to the bottom of the page and click on 'check these updates.' You will see a 'submit these changes' button if you have entered everything correctly. If there's an error, it will be highlighted. You can then follow the on-screen instructions after you have corrected the error. Finally, click on ' recheck these updates' to try and submit again.

Check these updates and submit these changes. Your changes will be sent to the editors at IMDB, and you will also receive an email from the site.

The Don'ts

During this process, you cannot write job titles in lowercase but capitalize your first and last names. Also, company names should not be listed, but instead, they should be included with the miscellaneous companies.

Don't include ambiguous names like a performer; instead, you can add a musician or actor.

What if Your Name Did Not on the On-Screen Credits?

The site has an attribute box that you can use to add further information about a product. So if you did not see your name on the on-screen credits, you could add 'uncredited to the attribute box.

To Conclude

Adding yourself to the IMDB site is as easy as you have seen make sure you have all the information you need, and you can comfortably have your name on the IMDB site.
